  • When can I check in and check out?
    Check-in time from Monday to Saturday: 3pm
    Sunday check-in time: 5pm
    Sunday check-out time: 12pm
    Monday to Saturday check-out time: 10am

    Check in is from 3pm. If you arrive after 5pm and the office is closed, please check in at the main security gate.

    Please check out and leave your keys at reception.
  • Are there any babysitters at the resort?
    Yes, we’re happy to babysit your children while you unwind at the pool or have a relaxing afternoon nap! A babysitting service is available at a nominal fee of R100 per hour. Contact reception before 2pm on the day that you require a babysitter.
  • How many people do the chalets accommodate?
    All chalets accommodate four adults with the exception of the Small Plettenberg Chalets, which accommodate two adults and two children under 12.

    Chalets accommodating two adults only: Josmont Heights – 201; 203; 205; 207; 209 and 210.

    If additional guests are found in your chalet, you will be asked to hire an additional chalet or alternatively leave the resort. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this regard.
  • Are guests allowed to visit?
    Outside visitors are allowed to visit registered guests for a nominal day fee, between 8am and 6pm.
  • Are there activities for children?
    Children are specially catered for and we know they will have fun enjoying all of our facilities! There is a well-equipped children’s play area set on lush lawns with swings, a jungle gym, slide, and merry-go-round, as well as tennis courts, bicycles for hire, an astro-turf soccer field and volleyball. There is also a special children’s splash pool. Unfortunately, there is no heated pool for kids.
  • What TV channels do you offer?
    We offer a range of TV channels in all Plettenberg Chalets, including SABC TV 1, 2, 3 and M-Net, Movie Magic 1 and 2, Supersport 1, 2 and 3, VH1 and KykNet.

    Josmont Heights, Golden Terraces and The Villa chalets have their own decoders with a selected choice of channels.
  • Is there parking available?
    Each chalet has free reserved parking for one vehicle. Additional vehicles can be parked in the parking lot opposite Avalon Springs Hotel at no extra cost. Trailers must be parked in your designated parking bay only.
  • Are there braai facilities?
    Each chalet has its own private braai area.

    If you’re having a big braai that exceeds the capacity of the braai we’ve provided, we do offer large braai drums on wheels at no extra charge. Simply call security on 023 614 3051 to have the drum-on-wheels delivered to your chalet.
  • Is there braai wood and firelighters?
    Braai wood and firelighters are available for purchase at reception during office hours (8am – 5pm) or from security after hours.
  • What to bring along?
    To ensure a comfortable stay, take a look at our checklist before you leave home:

    When booking a Small Plettenberg Chalet or Large Plettenberg Chalet, you’ll need:
    • Your own bath and swimming towels
    • Your own dishcloths and dishwashing liquid

    When booking a Golden Terrace or Josmont Heights Chalet, you’ll need:
    • Your own swimming towels – bath towels are provided
    • Dishcloths and dishwashing liquid are provided

    When booking a Villa, you’ll need:
    • Your own swimming towels – bath towels are provided
    • Dishcloths and dishwashing liquid are provided

    Great news! If you are staying in a Villa, it will be serviced daily at no extra charge. Be sure to inform reception on arrival if you require this daily service.
  • Are there any additional costs?
    • Entrance to the heated pool is R15 per person per day, R20 over weekends and all holidays.
    • First 1GB free limited WiFi, thereafter additional charges apply.
  • Are there any noise curfews?
    • Streetlights are automatically turned off at 11pm.
    • Please respect other guests at the resort by minimising noise levels after 11pm.
    • You may report any disturbances to security on 023 614 3051.
    • Management reserves the right to admission.
  • Are pets allowed?
    Pets are not allowed at the resort.
  • Is rollerblading and skating allowed?
    Rollerblading and skateboarding are not allowed at the resort.
  • What is the smoking policy?
    All chalets and public areas are non-smoking. Please ensure that all cigarette butts are put in the butt bins provided throughout the resort – do not discard them on the ground.
