Here's your weekend menu sorted – and it won't break the bank!

Montagu Springs is fully self-catered, and we’ve sorted a menu for you, so your weekend can be as stress-free as possible.
What better way to kick off your weekend than a braai! Something quick and easy like boerewors rolls and salad is a filling dinner after your drive to Montagu. Or some chops, potato salad, and carrot salad. For dessert, ice cream or a fruit salad is ideal.
Saturday Morning Brunch
After a good night’s rest and a lie-in, Saturday morning brunch is perfectly relaxing. To ensure that your brunch is filling, why not go for a full English breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, and toast. Or perhaps a flavourful pan of shakshuka made with eggs, sausages, tomatoes, peppers, and onion. Whatever you choose, don’t forget the mimosas!
If you are getting peckish towards Saturday evening, organise a snack platter or charcuterie board to keep you and your guests happy until dinner; or leftovers from the previous evening can also be the perfect snack. Speaking of dinner, potjiekos is on the menu. Each family has their own way of doing potjiekos, so we won’t dictate too much. Just make sure you have some protein and different veggies in there, with rice as a side, and no one can fault you! This is also perfect padkos for your trip home the next day. Finish the evening off with a nightcap of Amarula or the liqueur of your choice.
A quick breakfast before heading home is essential! We recommend flapjacks, waffles, or pancakes with your choice of topping – bacon, blueberries, strawberries, Nutella, peanut butter, whatever floats your boat. Add a fruit salad and yoghurt to top it off, alongside a cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of orange juice leftover from the previous morning.
